You have a choice of exporting to either SIMS .net or to Nova-T4.
This page explains the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
Exporting to SIMS .net
(via an XML file)
Advantages:
1. This export is quicker.
2. The data goes directly into SIMS .net, and the export-import transfers the curricular structure as well as the timetable data.
3. You do not need to use Nova-T4 or T6 at all (nor tackle their steep learning-curves).
(Make sure you have SIMS .net version 4.93, or later, if you want to print out Individual Student Timetables, Staff Timetables, and Room Timetables from SIMS .net.)
Disadvantages:
1. At the time of writing (April 2008) SIMS .net does not yet have a Cover module for covering absent staff, but it is due in May 2008.
2. At the time of writing (April 2008) SIMS .net does not yet print out Class Lists! (though there is a way, by exporting to Excel, that is described in our documentation).

Exporting to Nova-T4
(via a CSV file)
Advantages:
1. Nova-T4 can print out Class Lists. At the time of writing (April 2008) this is not yet fully available in SIMS .net! (but see above).
Disadvantages:
1. This method is slower and needs more work by you. You have to set up an accurate Curriculum Plan in Nova first. Nova will not accept any data unless you do this first.
2. To get the data into SIMS .net you need to then re-export the data from Nova-T4 to .net.
3. Capita-SIMS say they will not be supporting Nova-T4 after September 2008.

Please note that the information given here about SIMS .net and Nova-T4
is correct to the best of our knowledge.
